In May 1998, Jay and Jennifer Yilmaz opened the Jacaranda House, a three room bed and breakfast at 8 Holbrook Street. They were excited and inspired at the prospect of residing and hosting guests there, especially because it was adjacent to the long-time home of Mr L.L. Bean at 6 Holbrook St. By the end of the first year, they changed the named to the Applewood Inn.
